This years Call of Duty might be Modern Warfare 4

Many rumours are swirling around that this years Call of Duty will return to the most popular sub
series in the franchise, Modern Warfare. Way back in May 2018 a source who had previously some accurate (and it has to be said, some inaccurate) details regarding Black Ops 4 stated that 2019 will Modern Warfare 4.

Last week some American Football players got their hands on the game, because that’s how things work these days, and this was reported by Eurogamer. However, if you looked closely at the report and took the first word from the first four paragraphs you get…

Back to those footballers, specifically Tennessee Titans Quarterback, Marcus Mariot. On a twitch stream of Fortnite he was asked off camera what his favourite Call of Duty was and he replied “Modern Warfare, I just played the new one.”

Finally, we head over to ex Infinity Ward Creative Strategist and Community Manager and former Face of Call of Duty 2008-2012, Robert Bowling. Twitter user ‘Pickford’ responded to a video that, again, suggested Modern Warfare 4 was on the way, and posted “I’ll shit myself if it’s Modern Warfare”

Bowling tweeted back “You better buy some brown pants."

In an earnings call Activision’s CFO described the new CoD as “what the teams believe, one of the best Call of Duty’s ever built.”
“It’s going to feature an entirely new campaign, a huge and expansive multiplayer world, and of course some fun co-op gameplay,” added Activision President Rob Kostich.
If this year’s Call of Duty isn’t Modern Warfare 4 then Activision are playing a brilliant game of misdirection. Maybe that is what is happening and this years Call of Duty is actually a sequel to the spacey one. Erm. Call of Duty Space Warfare? Space Force? Shooty shoty pew pew but in space? Honestly that game was so forgettable I can’t even remember the name of it.
