JSC Zavod Dagdizel, Russia’s oldest producer of underwater weapons, has been contracted to supply the Russian Navy with 73 UET-1 multipurpose electric torpedoes.

A five-year contract for the weapons worth RUB7.2 billion (USD126.5 million) and running until 2023 was announced by the Russian Ministry of Defence on 28 February.

JSC Dagdizel is to commence series production of UET-1 components this year as the torpedo is scheduled for field testing in 2019.
