ZHANJIANG, Feb 26 (ChinaMil) -- A far-sea training taskforce of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy's South China Sea Fleet returned to a military port in Zhanjiang, south China's Guangdong Province, after a 25-day voyage on Sunday morning.
The taskforce consists of the guided-missile destroyer Changsha, the guided-missile frigate Hengyang, the amphibious dock landing ship Jinggangshan and the comprehensive supply ship Luomahu.
The four naval ships set sail from Sanya in China's island province of Hainan and Zhanjiang respectively in early February, and conducted far-sea training in the South China Sea, East Indian Ocean and the West Pacific, covering a voyage of more than 8,000 nautical miles.
The 25-day far-sea training was a routine arrangement in the annual training schedule of the PLA Navy, involving over 20 training items including joint area air defense, joint maritime rights protection, sea and air combined assaults, close counterattacks and in-depth land strike and so on.
